Lucy Atkins joins the RAY team

Lucy Atkins is joining Rural Action Yorkshire as the South Yorkshire Rural Network Coordinator for Rotherham and Sheffield.

She will be working across the area to provide advice and support to rural community groups and to continue the support to the rural network. 
 
Lucy has worked for Sheffield City Council for seven years, across housing, neighbourhoods and community cohesion. She has previously worked on regeneration projects within deprived communities in Sheffield, housing policy and initiatives supporting community safety and community cohesion. 
 
Lucy currently also works part-time for the Peak District National Park Authority as a Village Officer, providing advice and support to rural community groups and businesses across the north east Peak area.
 
Lucy has also recently qualified as a Town Planner and has knowledge of the new planning system and community-led planning.  Lucy hopes to use her experience in housing, planning and community development to help rural communities to achieve their ambitions.
