Have you re-tuned your TV?

Today is the first stage of the digital switchover in North Yorkshire.  From today anybody watching BBC2 on an analogue television will find that the screen has gone black, this is because the Tyne Tees transmitter has switched off part of the analogue signal it transmits.

If this has happened to you then you need to do the following things:

  • Re-tune your existing set if it is digital or you have a digi box/freeview box
  • If your screen is still black then you need to check if your television is an analogue set, if this is the case then you will not be able to re-tune to receive a digital signal without a digi box, freeview box or something similar
  • If your are aged over 75 or know someone who is and they need help then contact the help scheme free on 0800 40 85 900 or go to helpscheme.co.uk

The final stage of the switchover takes place on 27th September when the analogue signal is switched off completely.
