Celebrate the Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 Olympics

Are you thinking of organising a community celebration to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee or the 2012 Olympic Games? Both are great opportunities to bring your community together so get your creative hats on and start planning!

You might want to organise a children’s party, a tea dance or a barbeque to celebrate the Jubilee.
Or you might be thinking of organising a Big Screen TV for the opening event of the Olympics, or holding a sporting cinema evening or even your very own mini Olympics in your community building (a table tennis marathon or a bowls event).

If you are thinking of holding a street party then get advice from government and local authority websites.

You can also apply to the Big Lottery Fund for funding for a local event through the Awards for All Scheme.

Check out London 2012's website where you can sign up to be a local Olympics event organiser and be sent promotional material you can use, including posters and decoration ideas.
