Get your nominations in for the Ryedale Rural Awards - cash prizes up for grabs!

Rural Action Yorkshire is delighted to announce that nominations for the 2013 Ryedale Rural Awards, organised in conjuntion with Ryedale Voluntary Action, are now open! Prizes will be awarded in a total of six categories, with a £250 cash prize for the winner of each category.

The Awards, organised in conjunction with Ryedale Voluntary Action, recognise and reward rural voluntary and community group, projects and individuals for the hard work they put in to making their communities better places to live. The Award categories are as follows:

Previous winners include the Hovingham Action Group, a small team of very active volunteers who organise the monthly market and run the community café in the village, as well as various other activities such as the Countryside and Wildlife Group; and Wilton Village Hall, who recently managed to secure funding to expand and update their old but well-used buildings.

Nominations should be received no later than 9th August 2013.

Update: The deadline for nominations for the Youth Volunteer of the Year Award has been extended until 16th August.
