Neighbourhood Planning - how RAY can help

Neighbourhood Planning is a new initiative and represents a big learning curve for communities and local authorities alike - understanding policies and planning and undertaking community engagement all need to be addressed. Validation of any plan produced will rest in large part on scrutiny of the process used and evidence of majority community support for its contents.

An adopted Neighbourhood Plan will have a lasting impact on a community, so it is fitting that the community concerned has a thorough understanding of neighbourhood planning and their engagement is central to its development.

Rural Action Yorkshire has extensive experience of supporting communities to engage: be it in the context of community led planning, or evidencing support for individual community initiatives.
