Make sure your community is prepared!

Are you aware of the risks you and your community might face, e.g. flooding or snow? How can you help yourself and those around you during an emergency?

Join us for a practical and exciting session which will help your community become more resilient in bad weather and emergencies through preparing an emergency plan. The session will help you to identify:

  • A coordination/meeting point
  • Short-term safe refuge places for people displaced from their homes
  • Useful local emergency equipment
  • Who is vulnerable in the community and how to support them
  • Useful emergency contacts
  • Personal resilience

Guest speakers from the Emergency Services and County Council. Fire, police and ambulance services will speak on dealing with emergency situations and how by working together with communities they can deliver a more effective, coordinated response.

Thursday 26th February, 4pm - 6pm

This event is aimed at anyone living or working in a rural community, such as parish councillors, village hall representatives and local volunteers. It is also suitable for any keen residents who are interested in planning for winter and community resilience. We hope you will come along and learn more about how our charity can support you.
