£1.4 MILLION GRANT SPELLS NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR NORTH YORKSHIRE VOLUNTARY SECTOR

North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) and the County’s Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have awarded a £1.4 million grant to two established local charities to deliver support and development work to the county’s voluntary sector.

Rural Housing Week shines a spotlight on the need for more affordable, good quality housing across Yorkshire. Rural Action Yorkshire and the North and East Yorkshire Rural Housing Enabler Network (RHE Network) today launch a new initiative to help communities to look at solving the problem in their own village or market town by taking forward community-led housing solutions.

Hundreds of phone boxes set to be closed in rural Yorkshire

BT is currently consulting on the proposed removal of hundreds of its phone boxes from a number of locations across our regions. Consultations are being managed by each local authority, and views on the proposed list of removals are being sought. Communities are also being given the chance to adopt a phone box and convert it to other uses such as housing a defibrillator or hosting a micro-library.
