A small group of men in Scissett are planning on running  a pilot men’s sheds session on the 27th of September 2016 at St Augustine’s Church at 14:00. If you’re interested in joining with other men getting stuck into some practical countryside conservation work and  relaxing afterwards with tea / coffee and a slice of cake this could be for you. There will be also be an opportunity to view the potential project base in the church basement.

A Rural Action Yorkshire event

The latest meeting of our Hambleton + Village Halls Network. Our Village Hall Networks are opportunities for those involved in running rural community buildings to get together, share their experiences and problems, hear about new resources and policy development, and explore topics of interest in more detail together.

You don't need to be a member of Rural Action Yorkshire to attend, and you're welcome to come along from outside the District if the date and venue happen to be convenient for you.

Rural Solutions for Living Well with Disability

Community Friendly Buildings Showcase Event | Middleton, near Pickering

The hall has limited car parking to the rear, and on-street parking is available nearby. Middleton is on the main A170 road between Thirsk, Helmsley, Pickering and Scarborough; Middleton is about 2 miles west of Pickering. Middleton is on the route of the 128 bus which runs regularly between Helmsley and Scarborough.

This event is being organised by RAY as part of our Community Friendly Buildings Project, which helps community buildings develop new service and project ideas that will help them reach new audiences in their local community, by making their building more accessible to those local people who are older and may be vulnerable or at risk of social isolation. Some of the emphasis of the project is on making community buildings and activities accessible to those living with dementia.
