Welcome to Rural Action Yorkshire

We are a charity working with communities across Yorkshire to improve the quality of life for the people who live and work there. We provide a voice for rural communities to ensure they receive access to services that will keep them vibrant and viable in the future. North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) and the County’s Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have awarded a £1.4 million grant to a joint bid from Rural Action Yorkshire (RAY) and North Yorkshire & York Forum (NYYF). The money will fund support to charities, community groups and voluntary organisations across the county. To deliver the service in the most cost-effective way, RAY and NYYF have merged and formed a new charity. You can read more about the new grant and find answers to commonly asked questions about the merger on our Project Page.

Community First Yorkshire has a temporary website (see link above), but we really want to use the opportunity that the merger brings to completely redesign our online presence, incorporating all the best news, resources, services and project news from RAY and NYYF into one single, user-friendly website. You can help us plan the new site by taking our short, quick survey. Your input is greatly appreciated! Click here for the survey.

Events organised by RAY will be posted here. A full calendar of events organised by us, our members, partners and other organisations that are of interest to rural communities can be found on our Events Calendar.

Village Hall Network Meetings

Our Village Hall Networks are opportunities for those involved in running rural community buildings to get together, share their experiences and problems, hear about new resources and policy development, and explore topics of interest in more detail together. You can read more about these meetings and how to get involved on our Village Halls page.
